For several years now I’ve been working on a project photographing people who have become non-traditional heros. Here we have the Boynton family, whose house was once in a forest, well off the highway that abutted their property.  The highway (Route 2 using several names going from New York to Boston) is in the process of being widened. Large legacy trees that were not supposed to be removed from the Boynton property, were felled. This photo is them in front of their property, in what was once a dense forest.  Route 2 is to the right of the concrete barriers on the far lower right:
