“Photo Darwinism: Things your mother never told you”

About 5 years ago I was president of the American Society of Media Photographers. One of the problems I had with the association, and the industry in general, was that they would teach the theory of running a photography business correctly, but their theories and my practical knowledge of how the industry worked were in conflict. So I began writing about those conflicts.

One of the early articles I wrote for the ASMP Bulletin was about the conflict between the industry’s glamorous reputation vs. the reality that many of the photographers aren’t making a decent living.

The first page of that article can be read or downloaded here.
